So long, but not goodbye...

I have something to tell all of my readers,
although I am not completely sure of the right words.

Not wanting to be the bearer of bad news

Sometimes in life, good things have to come to an end to allow other good and great things to flourish. Today is one of those days, as it is my last full day of work at The Country Veterinary Hospital. My time here has been incredible, and the absolute best 3 months of my little life. The staff here is my family, and they have watched me grow up...

From a wee little pup...

...Through numerous temper tantrums...

...And even the awkward stages...

And I love them more than I will ever be able to say.

I will miss barking at inopportune times, tearing up the bathroom rug, begging for food, greeting all the clients, running away, and
above all,
I will miss all the snugly cuddles most!

Dr. Jessica McCaskill and Melissa simply have the best arms, and lap a puppy could ask for!

And so marks a new beginning, but certainly not an end. I will be back to visit often, and am proud that I will always have The Country Veterinary Hospital to take care of all my health and wellness needs!

Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I'll miss you
Until we meet again!

On a brighter note, while I may no longer be a hard-working puppy, I will certainly be up-to-no-good, so be sure to keep an eye on all my adventures here.

LeRoi, Working Puppy VOTES!

TODAY is ELECTION DAY!!!

SO EXCITED!

And... I am going to VOTE! As a proud American puppy it is my responsibility to cast my vote in favor of the candidate I think will be able to serve my amazing country best! We have to protect the interests and freedom of American citizens! But who to pick? Admittedly, I was just a wee little thing when presidential candidates were originally announced, so I have been working hard the past few weeks to make myself an educated voter.

LeRoi's 4-Step Plan to become an Educated Voter:

1) Really LOOK at the candidates.
Donkeys have big ears, which is cool. But, then again, so do elephants. Do I have big ears?

2) Watch the debates.
What a great chance to compare the candidates plans for our country!
Where do they stand? What will their policies do for me?.....
                                                               .....

..... I thought donkeys and elephants were civil creatures...

3) Poll my neighbors and friends and jump on the bandwagon!
Ok, I know, not really an educated tactic, but my other strategies were equally ineffective! So, on my last walk around the neighborhood I simply counted the signs in the front yards and decided to vote for whoever had the most support! One red! One blue! Two red! Two blue! Red! Blue! Red! Blue! Red! Blue!....*sigh*

4) Just Vote!
I'm winging it today people. May the best candidate win.

I couldn't look

And so, here is my official ballot!
They said I could keep it as it was too ambiguous to count!

I thought it was obvious who I voted for!

This is your official call to action!
Go. Vote. Win!

And don't forget to wear your sticker in support of Democracy!

As Promised...

...My venture into THE PUMPKIN PATCH!

And so begins a story in pictures and aside comments from my wonderful day exploring the pumpkin patch with my mommy and favorite only uncle!

Our chariot into the pumpkin patch!

feeling of calm before the storm

Into the pumpkin patch we go!

SO MANY PUMPKINS!!!
Don't mind us, just taking a little taste...you see those teeth?

YUM!!!!

But that's not all!

First, we found our perfect pumpkin!
"THE" Pumpkin

Then we walked ALL THE WAY out of the pumpkin patch, making friends along the way! I couldn't believe how far out we had gone. I was a tired puppy!

In need of a nap

New Friend

Because my mommy was bad and forgot to bring me water,
she talked her way onto the first ride home!
Thank goodness too, I was SO thirsty...

(Take this to heart, don't forget water when you take field trips with your best friend!)
Smooth Talking... ignore the people to the right, not smooth talking.
SO she saved the day and redeemed herself. We even beat out some kids trying to get on the tractor! Seems management puts puppies first, as they very well should!

So I finished the day with a photo shoot with Simon, my wonderful uncle and the photographer of the day.

Snuggle Time!

What an adventure

Best in Show

Today's focus is breeding perfection:
(Just see below)
Admiration of these perfect proportions is not only acceptable, but encouraged.

Some people would call me a mutt, but my doctor says I have hybrid vigor :)
But seriously, for all of you considering a new addition to your family, adopting is the best route! Mixed breeds have fewer health concerns and genetic predispositions (hip dysplasia, skin conditions, etc), and are just as lovable!

I mean, have you seen this adorable face?
So, I have decided to help all of you find your new best friend! Check out these amazing rescue organizations and get your very own perfectly proportioned pet for life!

Brr...it's COLD outside!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful

My "Stepping Out" coat
As the weather gets colder, make sure your companions are able to stay warm! A coat, like my fleece,go a long way towards making the winter months cozy and comfortable! This is especially true for small dogs and short haired breeds who are less able to regulate their body temperatures and can become cold easily.

Don't let that happen!
Especially with so many fashionable alternatives!
Like this one...
Or this one...
Or this one!

  As for me...

...I'm prepared to nap in any weather!

Just another warm & cozy nap

Audience Education

I am losing my baby teeth!

Yes, I am wearing a bow to celebrate the occasion!
I had two but chewed one out  for fun :)

This is exciting for many reasons:

1) It is proof that I am becoming a grown-up puppy

AND

2) As I am a pound puppy, it gives my mom confidence that I am approximately 13 weeks old!

How I was found...
No LeRoi's were harmed during the taking of this photo
Now for a little education:
First, if you have a puppy and find them looking like me here, don't panic!

Second, for those of you who didn't know--puppies will begin to lose their puppy teeth between 12 and 14 weeks of age and is the best way to get an age approximation on young dogs whose birthdays would be otherwise unknown.
Awareness of your puppy's age is important so they can be properly vaccinated! Booster shots for Distemper and Bordetella are a 3 set series whose last booster is due when your puppy turns 16 weeks, so if you start too early (my case as an example) more than 3 shots are necessary to ensure protection from these terrible diseases! And Canines are recommended to be spayed/ neutered between 4-6 months!!!

Next time you stop by The Country Veterinary Hospital ask to see my front tooth! Although it is rare to ever find them as most teeth will be swallowed, my mom happened to catch my tooth right before it fell out!

studying up...

The smartest, coolest, and most beautiful employees at The Country Veterinary Hospital decided it was time for me to bring my knowledge up to snuff....

Nose to the grindstone

Sometimes it was a little hard for me to focus...

or use it as a pillow?
Can I chew it instead?

But Dr. McCaskill works everyday to keep her knowledge up-to-date, by attending conferences, reading articles, and discussing new issues with colleagues so I am provided with the very best in medical care, so I do too! What sort of assistant would I be otherwise?

Puppy of Many Talents!

And don't be surprised when you see me all around the hospital! Some days they even let me branch out from my greeting duties...

A little doctoring

A little surgery

I am a puppy that can do it all!

The Country Veterinary Hospital

As the official office greeter at The Country Veterinary Hospital I have a a hard job!
Hello!

Everyday I man my post by the front desk, ready to jump up and greet every individual that comes through our front door! The only problem is that my job leaves me SO tired, so I have to take frequent naps throughout the day...

But I love my job and the sweet girls I work with, so it is worth all the effort! Follow my blog to see all the fun and exciting new happenings at work here at The Country Veterinary Hospital!
